She and her husband, Richard, were able to fulfill their dream of retiring to the County 8 years ago. It is important to her to “do unto others” through volunteering. She has vast volunteer experience including: The Regent Theatre, Hospice Prince Edward, with the Demorestville W.I., as well as food security group Food to Share and most recently with the hospital auxiliary. She became more engaged with the County Food Hub volunteering through Food to Share and her desire to keep Sophiasburgh Central School open. Her happy place is in the kitchen and the making and sharing of food with others is an expression of love.
-
Sheryl Herle
Director of the Board
Sheryl was Toronto-based for decades, working internationally in corporate learning, HR and IT, with a specialization in HR technology. She made the move to PEC on a full time basis in 2021.
Travel for work and pleasure is simply a way of life for Sheryl, resulting in a deep appreciation for other cultures and lifestyles. Strong values around healthy living, leaving a light footprint on the earth, and contributing to a vibrant community are the reasons Sheryl chose PEC as a home base for 8 months a year, and a vibrant, small town called Las Terrenas, in the Dominican Republic, for the other 4 months.
When not pulling weeds in an acre of neglected earth that now feeds her bees, Sheryl can be generally be found on the pickleball courts, in her garage fixing and creating stuff, or still trying to master her paddle board and get over her fear of large fish!
